FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
What sort of camera do I need? Ideally you need a camera with interchangeable lenses (a D-SLR or mirrorless camera). These take better quality images and allow you more creative options.
-
Will I need lots of other expensive photographic equipment? You can get started with the ‘kit’ lens your camera comes with and then add other lenses once you get into it. I’ll tell you which ones I use most for photographing food. A tripod is really useful, but don’t get one until you see which sort I recommend.
-
Can I use my smartphone? Camera phones are great for certain types of photographs, but they do have their limitations. You could start out with your smartphone and then get a camera when you need one.
-
